Summary 2024 and 25th Edition

Last June 2024, the 24th edition of the international youth football tournament, the Pirineos Cup, took place, featuring a total of 278 teams and 4,500 participants from around the world. Renowned international clubs such as Liverpool FC, FC Porto, Sporting Portugal, SC Braga, Girona FC, FC Levante Badalona, CA River Plate, CF Monterrey, and Club América participated in the tournament.

For the third consecutive year, the tournament was held in the Pyrenees across 3 countries, spread across the Catalan regions of La Cerdanya and Alt Urgell, as well as the French territories of Cerdagne and Capcir, and throughout Andorra. Andorra hosted the cadet category, with a total of 40 teams and 800 participants competing in the country, while France hosted the 3 women’s categories in the towns of Font Romeu, Bolquère, and Matemale.

This last location, Matemale, along with Guils de Cerdanya, debuted as new venues for a tournament that continues to grow every year. This expansion aimed to increase the number of women’s categories, featuring participation from top women’s teams such as Girona FC, Club América, FC Levante Badalona, CD Fontsanta Fatjó, and EAF Valencia CF, among others.

This edition welcomed teams from across the national territory, as well as from France, Andorra, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Belgium, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Bahrain, and even Réunion Island, a French island located in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar.

Next year, the 25th edition of the Pirineos Cup will take place from June 26 to June 29, 2025, a milestone our organization is already working on to make it the best edition yet.
